Swiggy and Zomato payout schedule: which day the money reaches your bank

Both platforms pay weekly, but their weeks do not line up. Knowing the exact day makes the rent, the salaries and the vendor bills easier to plan.

The short answer

Zomato pays weekly: orders from Monday to Sunday are settled on or before the Thursday of the following week, or within 3 bank working days of Zomato receiving the payment if you opt for that in your enrolment form. Swiggy also pays weekly: orders from Sunday to Saturday are settled on or before the Wednesday of the following week. On both platforms a settlement day that falls on a bank holiday moves to the next working day, and the fees, the GST on those fees and other deductions come out before the money reaches you.

Zomato: Monday to Sunday, paid by Thursday

Zomato's partner terms set weekly settlement as the default. Orders served from Monday to Sunday are paid on or before Thursday of the following week. If that Thursday is a bank holiday, the payout moves to the next working day. The terms say the weekly cycle leaves time to adjust for orders the customer refused to pay for or got refunded. There is a faster option: if you choose it in your enrolment form, Zomato remits within 3 bank working days of receiving the order payment. Your form records which one you are on. We checked these terms against Zomato's published version, last updated 13 February 2023, on 3 November 2026.

Swiggy: Sunday to Saturday, paid by Wednesday

Swiggy's Merchant Terms also settle weekly. Orders served from Sunday to Saturday are paid on or before Wednesday of the following week, and a bank holiday pushes it to the next working day. Swiggy raises an invoice for its service fees for each settlement period and deducts them before sending the balance. So the two weeks do not match: Swiggy's week ends on Saturday, Zomato's on Sunday. A Sunday's Swiggy orders reach you around ten days later, a Sunday's Zomato orders in four. The payout statements we reconcile follow the same cycles: Swiggy weeks run Sunday to Saturday and Zomato weekly settlements run Monday to Sunday.

What comes out before the money lands

Neither platform pays you the order value in full. Zomato's terms list what it deducts: its service fee, the payment mechanism fee, tax it collects, and other amounts you have agreed to under the form. Swiggy's terms list its service fees, other charges in its schedule of charges, GST and other taxes on them, and amounts due under any other agreement with Swiggy. From the statements we reconcile: the packaging charge is paid by the customer and added to your payout, and 18% GST is charged on the platform's fees. Your commission rate is set in your own agreement with each platform, so the rate in your form is the one that counts.

Why one week can pay less than its sales

Both platforms can take back money for orders that went wrong. Under Zomato's terms, if it refunds a customer for an order it treats as your fault, such as bad food or missed delivery instructions, you are not paid for that order. If you were already paid, Zomato can offset it against future payouts. Swiggy's terms let it recover the service fee and the refund on disputed orders from your collections. Both platforms also charge for rejecting orders: if the orders you reject in a week cross 0.5% of that week's orders, they deduct 10% of the net order value of those rejected orders, rising to 25% once rejections cross 2%. Swiggy adds a call-centre fee of ₹10 per order, waived for a new restaurant's first two weeks and for up to 5% of orders in a settlement period. Zomato charges ₹10 per order that needs its support team, such as a late handover or a missing item, once those orders cross 5% of the week's orders. Zomato waives both its charges for a new restaurant's first two weeks. So a busy week with many complaints can still pay out less than a quieter one.

When a payout looks wrong

Swiggy's terms give a route: email partnersupport@swiggy.in with a ticket, and the discrepancy is to be resolved within 15 days of the ticket. On Zomato, the monthly invoice for its service fee, payment mechanism fee and other charges arrives by email within 7 days of the month end, along with a monthly TCS statement. If the tax deducted at source on your quarterly TDS certificate does not match your records, Zomato's terms give you 15 days from receiving the certificate to raise it. Check each weekly statement against your own order log while it is fresh, not at the end of the quarter.

Plan your cash around the two cycles

Because Swiggy pays by Wednesday and Zomato by Thursday, most weeks bring two payouts close together, each covering a different week of sales. Set vendor payments and salaries after Thursday, not before. Keep a buffer for a week of heavy refunds or a bank holiday that pushes a payout back a day. If you opt for Zomato's 3-day settlement, the money arrives sooner. Either way, match every payout to the orders it covers before you spend it.

This is the kind of work we run end to end as a Swiggy and Zomato agency for Mumbai restaurants.
